We Hope to Mark the End of the Crisis in September, Says Pashinyan

The epidemiological situation of the coronavirus pandemic in Armenia has significantly improved and continues to improve over the past 15 days. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting today, July 30.

“We have had less than 400 daily cases for six consecutive days. Thus, we have a chance to break the backbone of the pandemic, and this places a special responsibility on each of us,” said Pashinyan.

He added that the established anti-epidemic conditions must be strictly adhered to. Pashinyan also noted that in a few days the process of pension payments will begin, and everything must be done to avoid congestion at post offices.

“Unfortunately, we know for sure that air transport will not return to normal until the end of the tourist season. This means that our citizens, who could spend their vacation abroad, must take advantage of the opportunities of domestic tourism. We have a problem to remove the pandemic from our public life agenda. This does not mean that there will be no cases of coronavirus; rather, it means that those cases should be at a level that we do not consider a crisis. We have that chance today, and how we realize that chance depends on us. We hope to mark the end of the crisis in September,” he concluded.
