Unruly MPs to be Silenced: 'My Step' Prepares Seriously for the Autumn Session
The 'My Step' faction of the National Assembly is seriously preparing to silence 'unruly' MPs in the upcoming autumn session. The ruling faction has circulated a draft bill proposing amendments to the 'Rules of Procedure' of the National Assembly, aiming to strengthen the existence of the temporary ethics committee in parliament.
Specifically, the proposed bill would allow the ethics committee to impose sanctions against MPs based on its findings, with the authority to do so granted to the Speaker of the National Assembly. Until now, MPs who violated ethics rules were not held accountable.
It is no secret that incidents involving MPs have frequently been reported in the seventh convocation of the parliament, and according to our sources, these changes are aimed precisely at trying to silence MPs through the ethics committee. Furthermore, the committee will now be accessible to everyone, allowing them to submit evidence that a particular MP has violated ethical rules.
Taking into account that the ruling faction will continue to hold a majority, it is not excluded that many MPs could face disciplinary action in the autumn session.
