Our Greatest Obligation to Orphanage Graduates is Educational Obligation, Says Pashinyan

The event aimed at providing housing for graduates of orphanages in Armenia has commenced, with plans to issue housing purchase certificates for three hundred graduates. So far, certificates have been granted to 133 graduates, as announced during a government meeting by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Zaruhi Batoyan.

"Currently, we have one hundred thirty rejections among the applicants because they do not meet the criteria: they must have left the orphanage upon turning eighteen, be citizens of Armenia, not possess a property certificate, and not have sold a property within the last five years," Batoyan stated.

She noted that exceptions are being proposed for twenty-four individuals from orphanages to include them in the program. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also raised another issue concerning orphanages beyond this initiative. "I want to draw everyone's attention to the fact that our greatest obligation to orphanage graduates is our educational obligation. Orphanage graduates must receive an education that ensures their future self-sufficiency through employment, so that they do not end up in a dead-end situation," said Prime Minister Pashinyan.
