Romanos Petrosyan to be appointed Minister of Environment
The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports that the position of Minister of Environment has been vacant for more than two months. Currently, the responsibilities of the minister are being performed by Deputy Minister Vahe Jilavyan.
ArmLur.am has learned that Kotayk's current governor Romanos Petrosyan may soon be appointed as the minister. Furthermore, it has come to our attention that Petrosyan held a small farewell meeting with the staff of the governor's office and stated that it is possible he will be appointed minister by Monday.
To verify this information, ArmLur.am spoke directly with Governor Romanos Petrosyan. In response to our question, Petrosyan said, “There is currently no official information regarding such matters; I am fulfilling my duties based on the normal scope of powers that come with the governor's role.”
When asked if he had received an offer, the governor replied, “There is nothing official, and I do not wish to comment on the news.”
It is noteworthy that the former Minister of Environment Erik Grigoryan resigned from his position on May 5th.
