Police Investigates Possible Violations During Security Services in Amulsar Area

The Armenian Environmental Front has informed via its Facebook page that it has received a response from the Police of the Republic of Armenia, indicating that investigations are being conducted in the Amulsar area to determine the circumstances of possible violations during the provision of security services by the company "SPECIAL SECURITY SERVICE" LLC. The final response is expected by August 21.

The content of the inquiry is as follows:

1. Since June 30, 2020, "SPECIAL SECURITY SERVICE" LLC (VAT number 01276734) has been providing services in the Amulsar area, and it has been reported and recorded many times that the security personnel have violated Article 14, Part 2 of the Law on Private Security Activities of the Republic of Armenia, which states that "The special uniform shall visibly contain or have affixed the name and surname of the security guard (bodyguard) and the trade mark and firm name of the security organization." What measures has the Police of the Republic of Armenia taken to legally assess these violations and apply appropriate penalties, given that the security personnel have operated without uniforms containing visible names and surnames?
2. According to Article 12, Parts 2 and 3 of the same law:
   2. A person aspiring to work as a bodyguard or security guard must present, in addition to the documents provided for by labor legislation when signing an employment contract, a document certifying that he/she has completed special training (qualification).
   3. Citizens of the Republic of Armenia who have bodyguard or security guard qualifications have the right to obtain the status of bodyguard and security guard and perform bodyguard and security functions (including the use of weapons and the application of special means).

In this regard, please inform us how many qualified bodyguards or security guards "SPECIAL SECURITY SERVICE" LLC had as of June 30, 2020, who possessed documents certifying completion of special training, and how many of them have been providing services in the Amulsar area from June 30 until today.
