Cases of Repeat Coronavirus Infection Reported in Armenia: What is the Reason?
Several cases of repeat coronavirus infection have been recorded in Armenia. The information was disclosed by the Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, during a press briefing following a meeting of the Commandant's Office.
“There is a need for scientific research to understand the factors behind these occurrences. In any case, these cases are not widespread or large-scale and are likely associated with specific individuals’ health characteristics, perhaps cellular-level peculiarities,” the minister stated.
According to Arsen Torosyan, cases of repeat infection have also been observed in other countries. He noted that this is another reason to consider that recovering from the virus does not justify ignoring safety rules. However, on the other hand, there is no immediate cause for concern that all infected individuals will become reinfected.
