Proposal to Extend Benefits for Residents of Border Communities by 3 More Years
A legislative proposal aimed at providing social support to residents of border communities suggests extending a range of benefits for an additional three years, as detailed by SISAK GABRIELYAN, a member of the National Assembly from the 'My Step' faction during a press conference.
"We want the state to reimburse nearly 50 percent of the costs for electricity, natural gas, and irrigation water for about 36 communities. Of course, there are limitations: up to 1450 kWh of electricity and up to 360 cubic meters of natural gas. There are no restrictions for irrigation water; regardless of the amount used, the state will cover 50 percent of these utility expenses until January 1, 2024," the MP stated. He further added that another change is proposed concerning the payment for textbooks. For instance, it is suggested that students in higher grades from border communities receive either a 50 percent partial reimbursement or free provision of textbooks.
