Lydian Armenia Releases Statement

Yesterday, a group of individuals illegally blocking the roads to Amulsar initiated yet another wave of noise and misinformation, continuing the logic of illegal actions that have been directed against the law, the state, and the residents of their own community for the past two years. This was stated in a release by Lydian Armenia.

“Lydian Armenia” has already informed that last week, registration work began in the Amulsar area. The work is being carried out by the company’s specialists with the participation of employees from the Jermuk community. Notably, following the publication of alleged incidents of theft and vandalism in the area, the group blocking the Amulsar roads exhibited more aggressive behavior yesterday, attempting to intrude into the Amulsar territory and disrupt the registration work.

It is also significant that those blocking the roads, who are committing illegal acts against their fellow community members seeking to live through legal work rather than dubious sources, referred to the employed residents as “mercenaries.”

We feel it is necessary to mention that this situation, where community residents engaged in legal work regularly face such illegal encroachments, has become possible due to the two-year tolerance of the law enforcement system and the absence of law and legality in this area. Yesterday's artificial noise was further evidence that the road blockers do not represent the community and are doing everything to create unnecessary disturbances and clashes within the community.

We can only assume that the noise is related to the registration aimed at uncovering illegal activities in the area and its possible results. This behavior is also a consequence of the highlighted passivity of the police yesterday when local law enforcement exhibited unprecedented tolerance towards the lawbreakers instead of protecting the interests of hundreds of people legally entitled to work in their community, at the expense of the rights of hundreds of residents in those communities to live, work, and secure a prosperous life for their families.

This situation must end as soon as possible. “Lydian” is ready to support all citizens wishing to work legally in their community, while law enforcement agencies are obliged to ensure the unhindered realization of this right for citizens of Armenia within the legal framework. The registration work in the area continues,” the statement said.
