Terrorist Attack Prevented in Russia
The Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) has prevented a terrorist attack in a densely populated area of Moscow, as reported by the FSB's public relations center.
According to Interfax, the FSB foiled the activities of a member of a terrorist organization who was preparing to carry out an attack in one of Moscow's crowded locations.
During operations in a deserted garage area in Khimki, security forces discovered a suspicious man who opened fire at the time of his arrest. In response actions, the criminal was neutralized, as reported by the intelligence service.
At the scene, an AK-74 assault rifle and a grenade were recovered. There is also evidence that the criminal was connected with international terrorists in Syria and was preparing for a mass shooting. A criminal case has been initiated.
