Today, Kotayk Governor Romanos Petrosyan introduced Tigran Geghamyan as the new acting head of the Aramus community to the staff of the Aramus community administration and representatives of community organizations. This information was reported by the Kotayk Governor’s office.

It is noteworthy that the head of the Aramus community, Hrayr Nikoghosyan, who had been in office since 2002 for around 18 years, had submitted his resignation request to the Aramus community council.

Guided by Article 18, Part 1, Clause 14 of the Law on Local Self-Governance, and Article 26, Part 1, Clause 1 of the same law, and based on the resignation request of Hrayr Nikoghosyan, the Aramus community council decided on July 20, 2020, to prematurely terminate the powers of the head of Aramus community, Hrayr Nikoghosyan, and to appeal to the governor in accordance with the law.

Welcoming and congratulating the acting head Tigran Geghamyan, the governor expressed his full support for him. Aramus is one of the most important communities in the Abovyan region. Highlighting the scope of existing problems in the community, the governor expressed hope that Tigran Geghamyan, with his diligence and youthful enthusiasm filled with new ideas, would bring to life the vision of having a qualitatively new community in the shortest possible time.

The community urgently needs reforms, and these reforms should start today and be implemented in an atmosphere of mutual trust and cooperation. The governor also spoke about subvention programs being implemented in the Aramus community with state co-financing, particularly regarding the construction of a kindergarten, which must be closely monitored for quality and timely execution.
