Receiving High Scores Allows for Remote Application, But That's Not a Solution for Us – Protest Participant
The organizer of the protest by students who were not accepted into universities, Masis Babalyan, stated today, July 27, in front of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport that a representative of the ministry mentioned they could meet with the Deputy Minister. However, Babalyan said they no longer wish to meet with Deputy Minister Grisha Tamrazyan on this issue.
“Your Minister Arayik Harutyunyan does not understand what it means to properly notify. There are three options for this. The first is when a document is handed to the applicant in person; the second is when the document is placed in an envelope and sent by mail to the applicant; and the third is when it is sent to the applicant's email address. None of these have been implemented by the Ministry of Education. What proper notification is Arayik Harutyunyan talking about?” said protest organizer Masis Babalyan.
“Yesterday during his livestream, Arayik Harutyunyan mentioned that applicants with high scores can participate in remote admission. If they are trying to offer us a favor or pretend to solve the issue, we are all aware that while it is possible to apply remotely with high scores, this is not a solution for us,” Babalyan added.
