One of the Wanted in the 'Harsnakhar' Case Has Been Found

The investigation into the self-justice and illegal deprivation of liberty of the executive director of the 'Harsnakhar' restaurant hotel complex owned by Ruben Hayrapetyan and his family continues at the Special Investigative Service of the Republic of Armenia.

As a result of extensive investigative measures and joint operational-search activities conducted by the officers of the Main Criminal Police Department of the Armenian Police, on July 22, 2020, one of the five wanted individuals, Vahan Harutyunyan, has been found and presented to the prosecuting authority.

He has been charged, and a motion has been submitted to the court to reaffirm the preventive measure of his detention, which has been granted.

Previously, it was reported that six individuals had been involved as defendants in the criminal case regarding the self-justice against the executive director of the 'Harsnakhar' restaurant hotel complex, where they allegedly inflicted severe physical pain and mental suffering on the victim. Arrest warrants have been issued for these individuals, and motions have been filed to the court for selecting detention as a preventive measure.

The court granted the motions against Ruben Hayrapetyan and four defendants, while the request for detention regarding Ruben Hayrapetyan's son, Rafik Hayrapetyan, was denied. He had voluntarily surrendered to the authorities, charged, and the preventive measure chosen for him was bail with a non-leaving condition.

The investigation is ongoing. Further investigative and procedural actions, as well as operational-search and search activities, are being carried out to clarify all circumstances of the case and to ensure a complete, objective, and multifaceted investigation regarding the discovery of Ruben Hayrapetyan and the other three wanted individuals.

Notice: A person suspected or charged with a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia by a court's legally binding judgment.
