One of the fugitives in the criminal case involving Ruben Hayrapetyan and his son has been found: Investigative Committee

One of the five individuals wanted in connection with the alleged crimes committed at the "Harsnakar" restaurant-hotel complex owned by former president of the Football Federation of Armenia, Ruben Hayrapetyan, has been found and presented to the prosecuting body.

This was reported by the Investigative Committee, which added that charges have been brought against him, and a motion has been submitted to the court to confirm his pre-trial restriction of detention, which has been granted.

The Investigative Committee's announcement is as follows: "The preliminary investigation into the criminal case initiated regarding the alleged self-justice, illegal deprivation of liberty, and infliction of severe physical pain and mental suffering against the executive head of the "Harsnakar" restaurant-hotel complex owned by Ruben Hayrapetyan, his son, and his son’s friends, is ongoing in the main department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the RA Investigative Committee. As a result of extensive investigative and procedural actions, as well as joint operational-search measures undertaken by the officers of the main department of criminal police of the RA police, one of the five wanted individuals, Vahan Harutyunyan, was identified and presented to the prosecuting body on July 22, 2020.

Charges have been brought against him, and a motion has been submitted to the court to confirm his pre-trial restriction of detention, which has been granted.

We had previously reported that six individuals have been involved as defendants in the criminal case being investigated regarding the alleged self-justice against the executive head of the "Harsnakar" restaurant-hotel complex, illegal deprivation of liberty, and infliction of severe physical pain and mental suffering, and these individuals have been put on the wanted list, with motions submitted to the court for detention. The court had granted motions against Ruben Hayrapetyan and four defendants, while the motion regarding the detention of Ruben Hayrapetyan’s son, Rafik Hayrapetyan, was rejected. The latter had voluntarily surrendered to the law enforcement authorities, charges were brought against him, and a restriction measure was chosen in the form of a guarantee not to leave.

The preliminary investigation continues. Investigative and procedural actions are being conducted, as well as operational-search and search measures to clarify all circumstances of the case and ensure a full, objective, and comprehensive investigation, including locating Ruben Hayrapetyan and the other three fugitives.
