The number of injured soldiers in a car accident in Turkey's Mersin province has reached 27, with the potential cause of the accident being a failure of the bus brakes, stated Turkey's Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar.
Earlier reports indicated that at least six people, five of whom were military personnel, lost their lives, while ten suffered serious injuries in the incident.
“Preliminary data suggests that the brakes were not functioning. There are reports that the driver did everything he could in that situation. A total of 27 soldiers were injured, with four currently in the intensive care unit,” Akar told reporters.
