Moscow Police Arrests 9 More Participants in Armenian-Azerbaijani Clashes
The police in Moscow have arrested nine more individuals involved in clashes between Armenians and Azerbaijanis. This information was reported to TASS by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the capital.
“Police have detained nine people on suspicion of illegal activities. On July 24, clashes occurred among citizens in Moscow. In particular, a man sustained bodily injuries in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts, and shop windows were broken. In another incident, unidentified individuals smashed the windows of a café and car wash, resulting in injuries to a visitor from broken glass,” the police noted.
Criminal cases have been initiated under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation concerning offenses classified as “Hooliganism by a group of individuals.” Investigative actions are currently being carried out, along with operational measures aimed at clarifying all circumstances of the incidents and apprehending suspects.
The police emphasized that they will immediately suppress any manifestations of public order violations by groups and hold offenders accountable. Additionally, according to the migration legislation of the Russian Federation, foreign nationals who participated in the clashes may face a temporary five-year ban on entry into the country.
