Candidate for Constitutional Court Judge Addresses Accusations
Candidate for Constitutional Court judge Vahram Avetisyan wrote on his Facebook page: “Dear friends, family, supporters,
Anyone who knows me is familiar with my professional, moral, and human qualities. I ask you not to participate in Facebook 'wars'; there is no need to prove anything to anyone.
For me, holding a position has never been a purpose in itself, nor has it been conditioned by any group, political, or personal interests. I have approached the acceptance of the proposal to be nominated for Constitutional Court judge with the same principle of self-limitation of my rights.
Responding to the publications of various media outlets, social media personalities, and unknown individuals is futile, as the narrow personal, sectional, and group interests of those who made such publications are evident. The professional qualities and moral character of the authors of such publications are well known.
In the Republic of Armenia, a person is the highest value; everyone has the right to create and act freely. The Republic of Armenia is not ancient Rome, where censors determine who can occupy what position.
In the Republic of Armenia, discrimination based on personal or social circumstances is prohibited, and no one has the right to appropriate the achievements of democratic values. Let us learn to live in a democratic state.”
