Foreign Ministry Statement on Recent Incitement of Violence Against Armenians Abroad
Recent incidents of violence and attempts against the citizens of the Republic of Armenia and members of the Armenian communities have been reported in various countries around the world. There have also been cases of obstruction of the normal functioning of diplomatic services of Armenia abroad and Armenian communities, as well as deliberate destruction of personal and service properties belonging to them, which in certain instances have also threatened the safety of diplomatic personnel.
Racist actions are being undertaken to obstruct Armenia's trade and economic ties with various countries. This was announced in an official statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The expanding geography of these actions and the involvement of official representatives of Azerbaijan in actions against Armenia's diplomatic missions indicate that these acts are being directed by the state institutions of Azerbaijan.
We strongly condemn the actions aimed at inciting inter-ethnic clashes in various countries, which is yet another manifestation of Baku's irresponsibility and aligns completely with the rhetoric and policy of the Azerbaijani leadership, aimed at inciting hostility between the two peoples without geographical limitations.
We urge our compatriots to remain vigilant, not to fall for any provocation, and to immediately contact local law enforcement agencies, Armenian community organizations, and diplomatic representatives of the Republic of Armenia in such situations.
