The Armenian Side Strengthened Its Positions in the Border Area More Than Ever: Prime Minister

During today's government meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the tensions that began on July 12 in the Tavush section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the aggressive attacks by the adversary. He highlighted that in response, the Armenian side had a commensurate reaction, resulting in significant material damage to the Azerbaijani side.

“The Azerbaijani side suffered serious losses, including high-tech equipment, which is a clear victory of Armenian intellect, strength, and the defense industry. The psychological blow inflicted was even more substantial. As a result of the incidents along the border, a state of internal political instability has arisen in Azerbaijan, forcing its leadership to resort to new provocations to redirect the energy of domestic discontent against Armenia and Artsakh,” the Prime Minister noted.

“I deem it necessary to make several important clarifications. First, Azerbaijan attacked the sovereign borders of Armenia. The positions that became the focal point of the recent attacks are located within the territory of sovereign Armenia, and Azerbaijan's accusations of aggression against it are simply absurd. Azerbaijan launched the attack while Armenia was engaged in a peace process regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, and at times when Azerbaijan was refusing to negotiate with the main party to the conflict—Artsakh,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

“The Armenian side has strengthened its positions in the border area more than ever,” he concluded.
