Three Candidates Nominated for Vacant Position of BDC Judge Member

Three nominations have been presented for the vacant position of a member of the Supreme Judicial Council (BDC) judge. In this regard, a statement from the BDC mentions:

"In accordance with the provisions of Articles 76, Sections 4 and 5 of the Constitutional Law on the Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia, notifications were sent by the head of the Judicial Department on July 9 of this year to 9 judges of the Court of Cassation's Civil and Administrative Chamber who are eligible to be elected as members of the Supreme Judicial Council."

It was reported that the Supreme Court's Civil and Administrative Chamber received 6 applications from candidates regarding their names not being included on the ballot for the election of a BDC judge member.

The following 3 judges' names have been included on the ballot for the election of the vacant position of a BDC judge member:

  1. Suren Antonyan Rafiki (Court of Cassation's Civil and Administrative Chamber)
  2. Gor Hakobyan Gagik (Court of Cassation's Civil and Administrative Chamber)
  3. Stepan Mikaelyan Karo (Court of Cassation's Civil and Administrative Chamber)

It is reminded that the elections will take place on July 31.
