No Incident Involving Robert Sukiasyan Occurred, Says K. Sukiasyan's Spokesperson
No incident involving Robert Sukiasyan, brother of businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan, took place. This statement was made to Auroranews by Khachatur Sukiasyan's press secretary Anna Mkrtchyan: 'Robert Sukiasyan was not present at the office located on Zavaryan Street in Yerevan yesterday evening, and no incident involving him occurred. The police are preparing materials to ascertain what actually happened and who was involved in the altercation,' Mkrtchyan said in our conversation.
It should be noted that News.am recently reported that an incident occurred yesterday evening at one of the offices belonging to Khachatur Sukiasyan, the founder of 'SIL Concern' LLC. According to the media outlet, Khachatur Sukiasyan's younger brother attacked businessman Onik Karapetyan, who resides in Moscow, with a bodyguard at an office on Zavaryan Street (neighboring the former Silachi hotel). 'I received a call saying that there was a conversation about your mother’s son, you worked together in 2016, and he claims you owe him money. I said, what do we have to do with that? They said, come and we will talk,' Karapetyan told the media.
The businessman informed the media that years ago, he and his mother’s nephew had started a construction project in Moscow, but they were unsuccessful and incurred financial losses. Subsequently, the nephew demanded the return of his investment, while Karapetyan insisted that everything was legal and that he owed no one money.
'I went to Silachi’s territory, it was their area, Ruben and his thugs were there. Ruben said, it’s our money; we need you to give us that money. I said, I don’t owe anyone money. At first, they said I owed $80,000, then $200,000. Ruben told me, you have two days; if you don’t bring $200,000, we will burn your house down, we know your address and we know you. I said I don’t owe anyone anything, and on that word, Ruben and his thug leader Artash started hitting me, striking me in the face and head, they broke my nose. They told me, do not go anywhere, do not complain; anyway, the prime minister is ours, and the police are ours,' Karapetyan added, mentioning that he spent the entire night in the hospital, where he underwent surgery for his nose; however, due to the lack of hospital space caused by the coronavirus, he went home.
The police informed Auroranews that today, on July 22nd, at 4 PM, a citizen filed a report at the Erebuni police station, stating that he had been beaten during an altercation on Zavaryan Street the previous night at 11 PM. Materials are being prepared in connection with the incident, and a forensic examination has been appointed.
