False Bomb Threats Have Increased Recently
As previously reported, today at 10:23 AM, the National Center for Crisis Management received information that a bomb had been placed in the "Isso Mall" shopping and entertainment center in Armavir city, in one of the branches of "VTB" bank, and in the "Vigaro" store.
Two fire-rescue units from the Armavir regional rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have been dispatched to the scene.
According to updated information, Zarzand Gabrielyan, the head of the media relations department of the Armenian police, informed Auroranews that law enforcement is currently carrying out work in the specified areas. It should be noted that recently, bomb threats have become quite frequent, although it has been revealed that all of them were false.
Just like last week, we also contacted the press department of the NSS this week to understand what actions have been taken regarding these threats recently, and whether there are any possible hypotheses or suspects. In response to our inquiries last week, the NSS stated that work is ongoing, but they cannot provide further details.
Today, the NSS requested that we submit an official inquiry, and we will inform the public as soon as we receive their response.
Let us recall that on July 1, 2020, the National Center for Crisis Management received information regarding a bomb placed in the food court of "Yerevan Mall" shopping and entertainment complex. Following this, on July 6 of this year, bomb threats were reported at "Dalma Garden Mall" in Yerevan and at the "Mega Mall Armenia" shopping center located in the Nor Nork community of Yerevan. On July 15 of the same year, a false bomb threat was made at the Blue Mosque in Yerevan. Then, on July 20, the National Center for Crisis Management received information that a bomb had been placed in the "Isso Mall" shopping and entertainment center, in one of the branches of "VTB" bank, and in the "Vigaro" store in Armavir city.
