Attempted Murder in Sari Tagh: Charges Filed Against 39-Year-Old Resident of the Same Neighborhood
On July 14, 2020, at 23:15, a report was received from the "Erebuni" medical center regarding a patient transferred there with multiple gunshot wounds, including a penetrating gunshot wound to the left lower limb resulting in external and internal bleeding, a penetrating gunshot wound to the left side of the chest, as well as lacerations to the nose and left cheek. The patient, a 27-year-old resident of Sari Tagh, was diagnosed with hemorrhagic shock.
As a result of the measures undertaken, two spent cartridges of 7.62 mm caliber, as well as traces of blood, were discovered and seized from the crime scene.
Following the investigative actions conducted by the Yerevan Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee and operational-search activities, it was established that the alleged crime was committed by a 39-year-old resident of Sari Tagh.
On July 14, around 23:00, he inflicted gunshot wounds on the 27-year-old resident of the same neighborhood.
With sufficient corroborating evidence obtained, the 39-year-old man has been charged under Article 34-104 (attempted murder) part 2 point 10 and Article 235 (illegally acquiring, selling, keeping, transporting, or carrying weapons, military ammunition, explosives, or explosive devices) part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. He has been arrested.
Extensive investigative and procedural actions are ongoing, with operational-search measures being undertaken to locate the firearm used in the crime. The pre-trial investigation continues.
