Tragic Accident in Shirak Province: 7-Year-Old Child Dies, 9 Others Injured
Today, on July 19, a major and tragic traffic accident occurred in Shirak Province, as reported by SHAMSHYAN.com.
At around 19:00, a 36-year-old resident of the Ashotsk region, identified as K. H., while driving a VAZ-21099, lost control on the 17 km stretch of the Gyumri-Bavra highway, veering off the road and overturning multiple times before coming to rest in a field.
As a result of the accident, 7-year-old Y. H. died at the scene, while 9 individuals were injured and transported to the "Gyumri Mother and Child Austrian" hospital.
Following the directive of Shirak Provincial Police Chief Sasun Abaghyan, an operational group from the Ashotsk division, led by Chief Armen Ghazaryan, arrived at the scene. The information regarding the accident was relayed by the duty officer of the Road Police’s operational control center, Yervand Aleksanyan, to the Shirak Regional Investigative Committee, from where an investigative team has also arrived to conduct an on-site examination.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Shirak Regional Investigative Committee under part 2 of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code.
