Why Sergey Bagratyan Has Gone Underground
When the relationship between the ruling government and Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) leader Gagik Tsarukyan soured following demands for the complete resignation of the government, BHK faction member Sergey Bagratyan noticeably took a step back from his activities both in parliament and outside of it. He was one of the active members of the parliament, yet he has been consistently absent in recent times. Moreover, Bagratyan was not among the leaders of the protesters opposing Tsarukyan's arrest. Why has Sergey Bagratyan gone underground?
For an extended period, the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper has been attempting to locate him, but to no avail. It is difficult to ascertain what or who Sergey Bagratyan is afraid of.
It is worth noting that the National Security Service is conducting a large-scale investigation into the actions of BHK members, delving into the past of all figures to uncover any potential instances of vote-buying related to the 2017 elections for possible candidates.
