We Have Had a Quite Difficult Day: Haik Chobanyan

We have had a quite difficult day. Unfortunately, while providing assistance to the wounded in Chinari, a vehicle was hit. The main targets were the settlements of the Berd community, specifically the village of Tavush and the city of Berd. Today's feature was that the civil defense and sheltering was unique and extraordinary throughout 30 years of history. In the second half of the day, civil defense and sheltering were based on the requirement to take cover from drones.

This was stated by Tavush Governor Haik Chobanyan during a meeting with reporters in Ijevan. According to the governor, while it is possible to observe where the enemy is during shelling, in this case, the entire region was targeted.

“Today, with the support of our partners, we have supplemented our shelter measures. These efforts will continue in the coming days. We are providing blankets, opportunities for water supply in shelters, and lanterns that will allow people to take cover even at night. Today, primarily in certain villages, only individual shelters were used, which are mainly basements in different neighborhoods,” Chobanyan noted.

He also mentioned that during these days, there have been 51 incidents, of which 4 involved infrastructure, 4 involved vehicles, 2 involved pets, and 41 involved buildings. Out of the 41 buildings, 29 have been damaged before today, and 22 on this day. 2 buildings are subject to complete restoration, while the remaining structures can be restored through renovations without requiring new constructions.
