The Night at the Armenian-Azerbaijani Border Was Relatively Calm: Artur Hovhannisyan

The night went relatively smoothly. Glory to our army! This was stated by Artur Hovhannisyan, head of the Command and Staff Faculty of the Military University and former spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, on his Facebook page.

Recall that on July 12, around 12:30 PM, servicemen of the Azerbaijani armed forces attempted to breach the state border of Armenia in the direction of Tavush for unclear reasons, using a UAZ vehicle. After warnings from the Armenian side, the Azerbaijani servicemen abandoned the UAZ vehicle and returned to their positions.

At 1:45 PM on the same day, Azerbaijani servicemen attempted again to seize the Armenian Armed Forces' border position using artillery fire; however, they were suppressed by Armenian forces and, suffering losses, were repelled.

The Azerbaijani side continued shelling even on July 13. “The situation at the border is periodically escalating due to Azerbaijan. At this point, the frequency of shelling and the usage of strike UAVs has decreased. The situation is fully under the control of the Armenian Armed Forces. There are no losses on the Armenian side,” stated Shushan Stepanyan earlier.

The Azerbaijani side has reported combat losses; information about the death of four servicemen has already spread through Azerbaijani media.
