Aliyev's Behavior is Strange Especially Recently: A Panic Mood Exists Among Azerbaijan's Elite
The newspaper "Pasta" reports: "On Sunday and yesterday, Azerbaijan once again resorted to provocative actions, which received an adequate response from the Armed Forces of Armenia. As a result, the Azerbaijanis suffered numerous losses. Armenian soldiers once again proved that the Armenian army is combat-ready and prepared for any actions to counter Azerbaijani provocations.
In an interview with the "Pasta" newspaper, military expert Karen Hovhannisyan noted that such developments were expected, considering that the president of Azerbaijan had recently also been making statements about initiating military operations. He emphasized that by escalating tensions at the border, there is an attempt to alleviate Azerbaijan's internal political instability. "Aliyev's behavior is strange, especially recently. There is a panic mood among Azerbaijan's elite as well. For example, instead of calling on society to go to the border, he calls for them to go to the Freedom Square in Baku and demand his resignation. In other words, it is a sharp situation on both sides. Aliyev finds himself in an unfavorable situation both at the border and in the internal political arena. In this regard, he is in a rather undesirable position. On the other hand, we can say with certainty that Aliyev is not concerned about the human losses within his own society. On the contrary, he would prefer to see more casualties at the border, deepening the enmity between Armenians and Azerbaijanis, and using that enmity to extend his power further."
