We Were Peaceful Like Our Mountains, You Intruded Like the Winds. Statement by the Speaker of the National Assembly
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, has shared a photo on his Facebook page, quoting a passage from Hovhannes Shiraz's poem "Ekspront":
"We were peaceful like our mountains,
You intruded like the winds, ferocious.
We rose against you like our mountains,
You howled like the winds, savage.
But we are eternal like our mountains,
You will vanish like the winds, fierce."
