Russian Prosecutor's Office Confirms Charges Against Khachaturyan Sisters

The case of the Khachaturyan sisters will be heard by the jury trial court, likely in a closed session, reported Alexey Parshin from RIA Novosti.

"The case of the younger sister (who was declared insane) will be heard separately. For the other two sisters, we have submitted a petition to have the case tried with the participation of jurors. Most likely, the trial will proceed in a closed manner as the case involves allegations of violation of sexual integrity," Parshin added.

The high-profile murder occurred on July 27, 2018. According to the investigation's version, the three sisters, the Khachaturyans, killed their father in their apartment in Moscow. The sisters were taken into custody and initially placed in pre-trial detention, but their remand was later softened, including measures that led to their release from electronic ankle monitors.
