I Consider International Adequate Response Important, Including From CSTO: Lilit Makunts

The leader of the 'My Step' faction in the National Assembly, Lilit Makunts, addressed the recent tensions at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in Tavush on her official Facebook page, emphasizing the importance of an international adequate response, including from the CSTO, directed towards Azerbaijan.

Her post read:

“Today, Azerbaijani armed forces have provoked a situation at the state border of the Republic of Armenia, to which our armed forces have appropriately responded, resulting in human losses on their side. Nevertheless, Azerbaijan continues to escalate the situation, actively engaging in military operations with the involvement of large-caliber weapons. It is evident that these actions are contextualized within Aliyev’s bellicose rhetoric and aim to undermine the negotiation process for peace.

From this perspective, I consider it important to have an international adequate response, including from the CSTO, aimed at Azerbaijan, which will serve as an additional deterrent for the militaristic Baku. We hope that the Azerbaijani side will quickly draw the necessary conclusions and will not attempt to resolve its internal political issues at the expense of human lives; otherwise, the entire responsibility for the consequences will rest on Azerbaijan's political leadership.”
