Doctors Arrive from Germany in Armenia
Germany and the European Union are joining forces with Armenia to combat the new type of coronavirus pandemic. Supported by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid, a medical team consisting of 16 members, deployed by Germany’s International Search and Rescue Team and German 'Caritas', has arrived in Armenia.
The German medical team's efforts are also backed by the World Health Organization, the Robert Koch Institute, the Federal Ministry of Health, and the German Air Force. The medical team includes emergency doctors, nurses, ventilation specialists, intensive care personnel, and experts in the production of disinfectants.
Among other supplies, the team has brought 2,000 protective gear sets, personal protective equipment, oxygen concentrators, an X-ray machine, and medications. To combat the infection and bolster the healthcare system's capacity, the team will work alongside Armenian partners for two weeks.
