Armenia and Artsakh Must Be Free from Corruption: Pashinyan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, presented the national goals of the Armenian people on his Facebook page.
"The national goals of the Armenian people are as follows:
- To ensure the institutional conditions necessary for the permanence of the Armenian state in ideological, security, public, political, legal, economic, demographic, international, educational, intellectual, and cultural terms.
- To secure international recognition of the right to self-determination of Artsakh without any restrictions.
- To attain international recognition of the Armenian Genocide and to overcome its consequences.
- To ensure and protect the security, well-being, freedom, happiness, and other recognized rights of the citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
- To establish equality before the law, gender equality, and provide equal opportunities for women and men in public, state, and economic life, based on the protection of rights and the fulfillment of duties, thereby establishing national unity.
- To maintain and develop the national-state identity, independence, and sovereignty of the Armenian people, including the restoration and development of national identity, increasing the knowledge of the Armenian language, and the number of citizens of the Republic of Armenia significantly.
- To unify the pan-Armenian potential around the realization of national goals for the preservation and development of national values.
The rules of pan-Armenian coexistence:
- Violence must be excluded from the toolkit for resolving any internal questions. All forces and individuals who consider violence as a means to resolve domestic issues must be rejected. A vision for a society free from violence should become the cornerstone of our national unification. This statement does not apply to the use of legal force for the prevention and investigation of crimes, ensuring the normal functioning of society, and protecting the homeland from external aggression.
- The people and their free expression of will are the sole source of power formation. Any attempt to distort or misrepresent the people's free will must be regarded as anti-state and anti-national activity.
- The sovereignty of Armenia and Artsakh, and the Armenian people is the highest value. Any forces ready to engage foreign powers in resolving internal Armenian issues must face strong opposition from the Armenian people and the legitimate representatives of the Armenian government.
- Armenia and Artsakh must be free from corruption. All manifestations of corruption, including patronage, artificial monopolies, and creating artificial obstacles for competitors must be eradicated, and the material damage inflicted on the state and the people as a result of corrupt activities must be restored.
- The supremacy of law and the rule of law, equality before the law, the protection of rights, and the fulfillment of obligations must become the pivot of domestic relations. The existence of courts subject to external or internal influences poses a threat to national security. Courts must be independent. The presence of privileged classes, circles, or individuals in any sector of economy, politics, and public life must be excluded.
- The goal of the negotiation process for resolving the Artsakh issue should be the protection of the results of the Artsakh Liberation War aimed at the self-determination and security of the Artsakh people. Any solution deemed acceptable by the governments of Armenia and Artsakh can only be considered acceptable if it is approved by the people of Armenia and Artsakh.
Me and the world
Throughout its history, Armenia has existed at the crossroads of the "East of the West" and "West of the East," often becoming a theater of clash of civilizations. We reject the thesis of the clash of civilizations and position ourselves in international relations as advocates of civilizational dialogue. International and interethnic dialogue is our key vision of foreign relations, based on mutual respect, understanding, and the aspiration to become comprehensible. Promoting dialogue between civilizations, peoples, and states, as well as multilateral relations, should become an expression of our commitment to supporting international peace and stability. Armenia is ready to become a platform for such dialogue."
