Six Citizens of Armenia, Three of Whom Are Women, Stuck at the Russian-Georgian Border for Five Days

Alvard Mkrtchyan, a resident of Artik city in Shirak Province, has reached out to SHAMSHYAN.com to report that her son, along with five other Armenian citizens, has been stranded at the Russian-Georgian border for five days, unable to return to Armenia.

In an interview with SHAMSHYAN.com, Ms. Mkrtchyan stated, "My child has been in the Russian Federation for four months, suffering from hunger, without a place to stay or employment. They are not allowed to do anything, citing that he lacks registration. My son left the Russian Federation by car and reached the neutral zone at the Russian-Georgian border. Now, they are not permitted to return or to move forward. For five days now, they have been stranded, hungry and thirsty, six individuals, three of whom are women, in an uncertain situation. One of these six individuals has serious health issues, which prompted two medical visits yesterday."

She added, "We are asking for the government’s intervention and support so that our children can find a way to return home."
