New Morgue to Begin Operations on August 1, Says Health Ministry Spokesperson Alina Nikoghosyan
Construction work on the new morgue is currently underway, and it is expected to begin operations on August 1. Here, it will be possible to conduct autopsies on individuals who have died from coronavirus.
This was reported by Alina Nikoghosyan, spokesperson for the Minister of Health, on her Facebook page. She stated, "Photos have circulated on the internet showing the area surrounding the morgue building at the National Institute of Pulmonology, suggesting that the area is contaminated and that there are no bins for masks and gloves. Work is currently being carried out to keep the area clean, but I cannot help but note that signs are posted everywhere indicating where to dispose of waste. Nevertheless, people continue to throw trash in undesignated areas. By the way, construction is ongoing for the new morgue, and it is expected to commence operations on August 1. Let me remind you that this morgue will allow for the autopsies of individuals who died from the coronavirus. Below, I am publishing recently taken photos of the area and the ongoing work at the new morgue."
