Tense Situation Near the Presidential Residence: Arrests Made

WRed

A tense situation has arisen at Baghramyan 26. Vahagn Chakhalyan, the head of the "Will" civic movement, was present for a scheduled press conference. He stated, "We are not holding a protest; we are merely here for a press conference and to deliver a letter to the presidential residence. We are not staging a protest, we haven't brought any 'bullhorns', we don't have placards, and we are not engaging in any illegal activities."

Chakhalyan emphasized that a group of privileged individuals is forming in Armenia, who believe they can act without restrictions. "‘No to discrimination.’ You are creating a divide between national and non-national forces. Just as representatives of another political group held a press conference here a few days ago, we are doing the same," Chakhalyan added.

It should be noted that MP Arman Babajanyan also held a press conference in front of Baghramyan 26, where he declared that by not signing the amendment to the Constitutional Court law, Armen Sargsyan has stalled the process. The press conference drew a large crowd, and police demanded that emergency state regulations be observed. When their requests were not met, police apprehended Vahagn Chakhalyan, who is now in the Malatia police station.
