Russia to Begin Negotiations on Lifting Restrictions on International Flights Starting July 15

Russia will start negotiations on lifting restrictions on international flights beginning July 15. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Tatyana Golikova, as reported by RBC.

“Negotiations on lifting restrictions on international flights will begin on July 15. We expect that the Ministry of Transport and Rosaviatsiya will inform the government about the progress of the negotiations. We will assess the epidemiological situation in countries every two weeks based on the criteria announced,” she stated.

According to her, there are three such criteria. The first is that the incidence rate over the last 14 days should be at a level of 40 per 100,000 population. The second criterion is that the average daily increase should not exceed 1 percent. Finally, the third criterion is that the spread of the virus should also not exceed 1 percent.

She also mentioned that instead of a two-week quarantine, foreign nationals arriving in Russia will need to present the results of a coronavirus test conducted at least three days prior to arrival.

The Russian government had suspended regular and charter international flights since March 27.
