Erdogan Signs Decree Transforming Hagia Sophia into a Mosque

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has signed a decree changing the status of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, converting it back into a mosque. Erdogan shared a photo of the signed decree on Twitter.

Earlier, it was reported that the country's Council of State had annulled the 1934 decision to convert the church into a museum. At that time, the Christian church, which had been turned into a mosque, became a museum. With the new changes, it is now being transformed back into a mosque.
