UCOM Continues Network Restoration Works

The technical staff of Ucom continues to restore the operations of mobile and fixed networks step by step. The unavailability of services on the evening of July 8 was caused by overloading in the technical core system due to power fluctuations. The disruption also affected the normal functioning of other subsystems. Voice services for mobile communication and access to fixed internet were promptly restored in about two hours. Other services provided by Ucom will receive final adjustments as soon as the ordered components arrive in Armenia from abroad.

“At this moment, the operation of mobile and fixed networks is ensured by the activation of backup generators. Our technical staff, consisting of professionals with experience at leading international companies, has addressed the issue in an unprecedentedly short period. I would like to express special gratitude to our many partners both in Armenia and abroad, including several state institutions, for their operational support to Ucom's corporate and individual clients. I would like to mention that the necessary components have already been ordered and will arrive in Armenia within a few days,” said Ucom CEO Ara Sergei Khachatryan.

Additionally, the work being conducted for the installation and activation of the new components will take place during night hours to minimize any inconvenience caused to Ucom's subscribers due to potential disruptions in communication.
