Two More Residents of Gyumri Nursing Home Have Died in Hospital
No new cases of coronavirus have been detected in the nursing home for the elderly in Gyumri today and yesterday. The number of patients and those under self-isolation remains the same, with 55 elderly individuals and people with disabilities and 12 staff members confirmed to have the virus. This was reported by HJ.
No new cases of hospital transfers have been reported. Just two days ago, 37 elderly individuals and one staff member were transferred to hospitals in Gyumri, Yerevan, and Spitak. Currently, four are receiving treatment in Yerevan, three in Gyumri’s infectious diseases hospital, and 30 in Spitak.
Another 11 staff members have been placed under home isolation. Eighteen elderly individuals with asymptomatic cases are isolated in the facility’s quarantine wards.
However, there is one piece of bad news: according to Grigoryan, two new deaths have been registered. Yesterday, two elderly residents passed away. They had been infected with the coronavirus but also suffered from severe underlying conditions. The first death was recorded on July 7, involving one of the elderly individuals transferred to Spitak, who had cancer and other associated illnesses in addition to COVID-19.
