Shangri La Casino Loses Its License
The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia has declared the casino organization license granted to Onira Club LLC, which operates the Shangri La Casino, as invalid following a meeting on July 8.
The decision is based on the fact that the casino has not paid the state tax for the third quarter of this year.
“Considering that Onira Club LLC has not paid a quarter of the annual amount of the state duty for the third quarter of 2020, which is due according to the license number KH-001 issued by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia on January 1, 2014, until June 25, 2018, as well as the fact that by order number 266-N dated March 21, 2019, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia had applied a measure of liability against Onira Club LLC, which served as grounds for the suspension of the license, and guided by clause 'g' of part 1 of article 15 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia on Gambling, Internet Gambling, and Gambling Houses, the license number KH-001 granted to Onira Club LLC by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia on January 1, 2014, is declared invalid,” the decision stated.
It should be noted that a criminal case has also been initiated regarding this company at the National Security Service, with the owner being Gagik Tsarukyan, the president of the Prosperous Armenia Party.
