I Am Pained for My Countrymen Living Abroad Who Have Unintentionally Become Consumers of the Government's Dirty Trick: Zohrabyan

Armenian MP Naira Zohrabyan from the Prosperous Armenia faction expressed her concerns on her Facebook page, saying, "Such is the situation that, after the government committed a crime by publishing my private correspondence, they will still be tried under the collective crime article. Following that crime, when the government’s fake industry distorted my words and rallied the entire Diaspora by claiming, ‘Don’t you have anything to say? Zohrabyan has insulted you,’ that’s where the most interesting part began.

I acknowledge that many of our esteemed compatriots in the Diaspora might have gotten lost in the general noise and received incorrect signals from an out-of-context topic, leading them to call for my burning and hanging. They did so with such enthusiasm that the hearts of the Azerbaijanis were warmed these days with a different dose.

However, when I saw among the deluge of private messages, two individuals who have fled to France and have become widely known through their activities abroad, I sincerely felt sorrow for my esteemed and hardworking compatriots living in the Diaspora,” wrote Zohrabyan.

She went on to specify that the campaign against her from the diaspora included a young man who had taken on the Azerbaijani name of Ali Hasanov, as well as a woman who shoplifts perfume from stores.

“Therefore, my dear compatriots, several years ago, during one of the PACE sessions, a young Armenian asked to meet me at a hotel where the Armenian delegation was staying. You might wonder what happened next. Nothing particularly, except that this young man, in order to flee from Armenia, had taken on the Azerbaijani name Ali Hasanov and was asking me, as a parliamentarian, for help with certain issues. By the way, I publicly raised this incident earlier, stating that it is a shame for all of us when someone is even ready to become an 'Azerbaijani' in order to leave their homeland (See the link: https://armtimes.com/hy/article/124737…).

And now, this person has raised their voice in justified protest and has joined the calls to burn, hang, and quarter me with a Hasanovian enthusiasm. The other enthusiast, who wrote to me yesterday questioning what right I had to insult our compatriots working hard abroad, was Suson from Strasbourg, whose 'halal sweat' involved stealing perfume and clothing from stores in Strasbourg and nearby areas and selling them at half price.

And so, our 'Azerbaijani' compatriot and Suson from Strasbourg did not fall behind our common 'performance', and they both filed one request to me.

I genuinely feel pain; I feel pain for my numerous honest, decent, patriotic, and talented compatriots living abroad who have unintentionally become consumers of the government’s dirty trick and joined Suson, who steals perfume, and the young man who became an Azerbaijani to leave Armenia.
