Hrayr Tovmasyan Gave Clear Timeframe to Authorities
The newspaper "Hraparak" writes: "Yesterday, the well-known Constitutional Court session did not take place, regarding which we had stated that we would petition the CC to contest the illegality of amendments to the Constitution and related laws after the session. Are you planning to submit this request and when? we asked David Khajakyan, a representative of "Bright Armenia." "We have clearly stated that yes, we will petition the CC after the conclusion of the investigation concerning the case related to Kocharian, but since the session did not happen, there is no point in rushing technically, as there is no quorum in the CC, and even the earlier application submitted by 'Prosperous Armenia' has not been discussed. In any case, we have a three-month deadline, and during this period, our petition will definitely be registered with the CC."
In three months, the CC will have a completely different composition – who needs to meddle after lunch? "You know, from the moment Hrayr Tovmasyan announced that he would go on vacation, it became evident that there is no debate between the old and new Constitutional Court, between old and new judges, because it seems that Hrayr Tovmasyan gave authorities a very clear timeframe to rectify their omissions and mistakes that the authorities allowed during the CC changes by not accepting the necessary and related laws. If Tovmasyan himself has stepped out of his trench, then for us there is no longer a personal issue, and the new CC, with its new three members, will examine our petition, why not?"
Are you no longer in opposition? "Being in opposition is not about replacing Hrayr Tovmasyan with Vahagn Hovakimyan." Hovakimyan is he also going to be made a judge of the CC? "No, his education does not correspond. I meant that he is the collective image of all candidates."
