A citizen of Armenia has tested positive for coronavirus after traveling to the village of Chumlaki in the Gurjaani municipality of Georgia to buy peaches.

According to the Gurjaani Public Health Center, a biological sample was collected from the Armenian citizen upon entry into Georgia. The initial coronavirus test result was negative. However, during a follow-up test, the presence of the virus was confirmed.

The individual has been transferred to the Botchorishvili Clinic. Epidemiologists are currently working in Chumlaki village to trace all possible contacts of the driver with local residents. Experts believe this is an imported case, and identifying the initial source of the infection is essentially impossible.
