The Court of Appeals Has Not Made a Decision to Detain Gagik Tsarukyan, Says Defense
We inform that the Criminal Court of Appeals of the Republic of Armenia today published its decision based on the examination of the appeals submitted by the defense side and the prosecution regarding the application of detention as a preventive measure against Gagik Tsarukyan. This was stated by Gagik Tsarukyan's lawyer, Yerevan Sargsyan, on his Facebook page.
"Since the parties were not present at the announcement of the decision, and we have not yet received a copy of the court's decision, we are unfamiliar with the specific content and reasoning of the decision and cannot provide comments on it. However, we have oral information that the appellate court has decided to annul the decision of the first-instance court and send the case back to the same court for re-examination.
To clarify, we would like to inform that the Court of Appeals has not made a decision to detain Gagik Tsarukyan. At the same time, we inform that after receiving and reviewing the decision from the Court of Appeals, we will also discuss the issue of appealing to the Supreme Court of Armenia," Sargsyan wrote.
