Shortfall of 20.8 Million Dram Paid to State Budget for Advertising on Public Roads

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that the state budget for public roads in Armenia was underpaid by 20 million 825 thousand drams for the year 2018 concerning the advertisement placement fees. While the state budget was supposed to receive 57 million 101 thousand drams in road taxes, only 38 million drams were actually paid.

In 2018, a total of 37 companies were allowed to post advertisements using 319 billboards, and considering the notifications regarding the dismantling of these billboards, the calculated road tax payment was expected to reach 57 million 101 thousand drams. However, the actual payment was significantly lower.

It was revealed that as of January 1, 2018, the accumulated debt amounted to 60 million 416 thousand drams. The newspaper also noted that one company, "Bitil Services," paid only 720 thousand drams instead of the required 3 million 196 thousand drams, leaving a shortfall of 2 million 476 thousand drams. Similarly, "Imich" company paid 6 million 570 thousand drams instead of 14 million 337 thousand drams, creating a deficit of 7 million 767 thousand drams.
