Pharmacies' Green Crosses Should Not Obstruct Traffic Lights: New Bill

The bright green crosses installed near intersections can confuse people with traffic light signals. Accordingly, there are clear standards for pharmacies on how these lighted signs should be positioned. However, if these standards are not followed, pharmacies may face revocation of their licenses.

This issue has been raised by MPs Mikayel Hayrapetyan, Nikolay Baghdasaryan, and Narek Zeynalyan, who have authored a new bill. According to the bill presented to Parliament today, regulations are being established for the placement of crosses on pharmacies.

If the bill is adopted, pharmacies could face fines for violations. The lawmakers propose to soften the regulation by first issuing a warning, imposing a fine for a second violation, and only revoking a pharmacy’s license after a third violation.
