Parliament Concludes Another Extraordinary Session, Adopts All 12 Discussed Bills

The Parliament concluded another extraordinary session, voting on 12 agenda items after discussions. The package of bills amending the "Code on Mineral Resources of the Republic of Armenia," proposed by the Government, was accepted in the first reading, despite the absence of the opposition factions "Prosperous Armenia" and "Bright Armenia" during the voting. A total of 73 lawmakers voted in favor.

Another package of bills submitted by the Government on amendments to the "Law on Automobile Roads" was also accepted in the first reading. The voting results included 82 in favor, 1 against, and 2 abstentions.

The Parliament also accepted the bill package on amending the "Law on State Benefits" and on changes to the laws regarding "Temporary Disability and Maternity Benefits," with 86 members voting for it.

Additionally, the proposal to amend the "Code of Criminal Procedure of the Republic of Armenia" was accepted in the second reading and fully approved, receiving 86 votes in favor.

In the second reading, the Parliament also adopted the package of bills related to amendments in the "Code of Administrative Procedure of the Republic of Armenia" and changes to the "Fundamentals of Administrative Procedure and Administrative Procedure Code of Armenia," again with 86 votes for.

The bill to amend the "Law on Prosecutor's Office" was accepted in the first reading, also receiving 86 votes in favor.

The project for amending the "Code of Administrative Procedure of the Republic of Armenia" was also passed with 86 votes for.

Another amendment bill regarding the "Law on Military Service and the Status of Military Personnel" was accepted, again with unanimous support from 86 members.

The legislature also accepted amendments to the "Law on Licensing" and changes in the "Code of Administrative Offenses," with a vote of 86 in favor.

The proposal to amend the "Law on Local Government" was adopted with 61 votes for, 1 against, and 20 abstentions.

At the conclusion of the session, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, announced that some of the proposed laws would need to be discussed in the second reading on a 24-hour basis following their first reading acceptance. He noted that the extraordinary session would continue tomorrow at 11:00 AM.
