Italian composer Ennio Morricone wrote a farewell letter the day before his death. According to La Repubblica, he stated, "I, Ennio Morricone, have died."

In the letter, the composer bids farewell to his loved ones, relatives, and children. "The hardest part is saying goodbye to my wife, Maria Travia," Morricone confesses. The couple's marriage lasted for 64 years, and they have four children together.

Morricone also asks for his funeral to be organized without excessive gloom, so as not to cause discomfort to others.
