Armenia Places Great Value on Further Development of Friendly Relations with the United States. Pashinyan Sends Congratulatory Message to Trump

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a congratulatory message to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, on the occasion of the U.S. Independence Day.

“I extend warm congratulations to you and the friendly people of the United States on the occasion of Independence Day. The significance of July 4 has long transcended the boundaries of the United States and has become a symbol of the victorious struggle for independence. The ideas of nation-building established by the founding fathers have long served as an example for many countries around the world that have chosen the path of democracy.

For the past two years, the authorities of Armenia have been moving along the path of implementing comprehensive institutional reforms. This should lead to the definitive establishment and irreversibility of democracy and the rule of law in our country. The fight against corruption and reforms in the judiciary and legal system occupy a primary place in our current agenda.

We are grateful for the support and financial and technical assistance provided by the United States for democratic reforms in Armenia. We also highly appreciate the assistance provided to Armenia by your administration in the fight against the pandemic that has plagued the world in recent days.

Armenia places great value on the further development of friendly relations with the United States within the framework of the strategic dialogue established a year ago. We consider it important to continue our ongoing participation in U.S. initiatives to combat international terrorism and ensure international security to the best of our abilities.

We appreciate the constructive involvement and balanced policy of the United States in the peaceful resolution process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

This year we are marking the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the First Republic of Armenia and the United States. This historically significant fact indeed gives a special emotional shade and content to our partnership. Together with common democratic values, it creates a solid foundation for the enduring development and progress of friendship between our two countries.
