Aram Hovhannisyan to be appointed as Deputy Chief of the Police of Armenia

According to Shamshyan.com, police colonel Aram Hovhannisyan is set to be appointed as the first deputy chief of the Police of Armenia, having previously served as the head of the Police of the Armavir regional department.

Here is a brief biography of A. Hovhannisyan:

Born on November 7, 1966, in Artashat city, he graduated from the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture in 1993, specializing in physical culture.

From 1985 to 1987, he served in the armed forces. In 1990-1991, he was a police officer in the patrol service of the Artashat internal affairs department. In 1991, he was freed from service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

From 1993 to 2000, he worked as an operative officer in the Criminal Investigation Department of the Artashat internal affairs department. From 2000 to 2002, he served as a senior operative officer in the juvenile affairs division of the Artashat internal affairs department.

From 2002 to 2007, he was the head of the criminal investigation division of the Masis department of the Police of the Ararat region. From 2007 to 2008, he was the deputy head in charge of operations for the Artashat department of the Police of the Ararat region.

From 2008 to 2012, he served as the head of the Artashat department of the Police of the Ararat region. From 2012 to 2014, he was the head of the Armavir department of the Police of Armenia.

From 2014 to 2016, he was the head of the Shengavit division of the Police of Yerevan. From 2016 to 2018, he served as the head of the Central division of the Police of Yerevan. From 2018 to 2019, he was the chief of the Kotayk regional police department.

From June 12, 2019, to September 17, 2019, he temporarily held the position of head of the Armavir regional police department. On September 17, 2019, he was appointed to the same position by decree No. 2624-A of the Chief of Police.

He has been awarded the Combat Service Medal by the decree of the President of the Republic of Artsakh in 2002, the Combat Service Medal by the decree of the President of Armenia in 2010, and the Medal for Maintaining Public Order in 2016. He has also received various departmental medals and badges from the Police of Armenia and other agencies.

He is married and has three sons.
